Artistic Director / Choreographer / Producer
Kristy Lai Kei Wong is a Hong Kong–based dance artist and choreographer, graduating from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2026.
She has collaborated with acclaimed choreographers including Francisco Córdova (Physical Momentum), Sharon Vazanna, Leila McMillan, Ryu Suzuki, Edivaldo Ernesto, and Kenny Wing Tao Ho, and performed in the restaging of Hofesh Shechter’s Grand Finale by Erion Kruja. Her international performance credits include Hong Kong Week 2025 @ Seoul (South Korea) , Cora Dance Festival (Italy) and ArtCross London 2026 (UK).
In 2026, Kristy founded SOMA Dance Theatre. “SOMA” refers to the living, embodied self — the interplay of sensation, emotion, and imagination.
SOMA Dance Theatre creates somatic, movement-based works that view the body as an integrated whole. The company transforms movement into a wordless theatre of emotion and resonance, crafting performances that foster empathy, dialogue, and shared experience.
SOMA Dance Theatre has presented its work internationally across Asia and Europe, including performances at the Xie Xin Dance Theatre Residency Program (Shanghai, China), NODUS 2026 Contemporary Dance Artistic Residency (Spain), Sibu International Dance Festival (Malaysia), Goyang International Dance Festival (South Korea), Guangdong Modern Dance Festival (Guangzhou, China), and Youth Crossover Dance Art Festival by Chongqing One Run One Boundary Dance Theatre (Chongqing, China).
